About us

Our Mission
To breed the best coloured
jumping sport horses, combining NZ and international bloodlines, capable
of competing to international level.

O.L Pintos Profile
Martin and Maureen started Outlaw Farm with a view to
continuing breeding coloured
horses. The farm is now situated on a rolling 50 acres in the North Waikato and all horses
are raised in natural conditions. Previously we were known as Outlaw Pintos but
now we are starting to refer to everything as O.L Pintos (more information on
this page explains the change)
O.L Pintos breeds for temperament, ability,
confirmation, quality and colour and look forward to ongoing
generations of horses that continually improve the lines utilised.
Maureen started breeding coloured horses
years ago and some of the first progeny are still at O.L Pintos. Now the band
of mares has grown and includes mares both bred at home plus those purchased for
their bloodlines and / or ability.

band
O.L Pintos will look to performance test
all progeny retained, in the future, in an effort to ensure that the quality
continues to increase with every generation.
Now pleasure riders, Maureen, Martin and
Jakob (son) enjoy farm work or trekking when not busy with stud duties.
Watching the showjumping circuit takes priority when time allows.
When the opportunity comes to present
progeny competitively in the future, as they come of age, O.L Pintos will start
to follow the competitions and look for the best ways to present these progeny,
whether that be through employing a competitive rider or through forming a
strong alliance with an independent rider.
The stud has now moved to 50 acres at Te
Kauwhata. Although it is a smaller property the sole interest is now breeding
and training sport horses. The property offers a mix of contours and is being developed as time
permits, the bulk of the work should be completed by summer 09/10.
The move also meant we looked at our stud
name and we are now known as O.L Pintos. The OL is reflected in our brand, which
is registered with the NZEF, as a circle with the L in the middle. We also felt that the Outlaw was possibly
misleading to some people as there was a connotation we were breeding western
paint horses, not coloured performance horses.
